Fairbank Ventures Inc. (“Fairbank Ventures,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is accountable for the personal information under its control. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information when you visit fairbankinc.com or contact us through the site.
Information we collect
We may collect the following limited information:
- Information you provide: your name, email address, company name (if provided), and the contents of your message when you use our contact form or otherwise communicate with us.
- Technical information: our hosting and security systems may automatically receive your IP address, browser and device type, requested pages, referring page, date and time of access, and diagnostic or security data.
- Cookie preferences: the categories of optional cookies you accept or reject and the date of your choice.
Please do not send sensitive personal, financial, health, or other confidential information through the contact form.
Why we use personal information
We use personal information only for identified purposes, including to:
- respond to inquiries and communicate about a potential engagement;
- operate, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the site;
- remember and apply your cookie preferences;
- measure site or campaign performance if you have allowed the applicable optional cookies; and
- comply with legal obligations and protect our lawful rights.
We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not use contact details for unrelated commercial electronic messages without the consent required by applicable law.
Consent and your choices
We obtain consent where required and may rely on express or implied consent depending on the sensitivity of the information and the reasonable expectations surrounding the interaction. You may withdraw consent for future use or disclosure at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice.
Optional analytics and marketing cookies are off unless you choose to allow them. Declining optional cookies does not prevent you from using the site or contacting us. Some information may be collected, used, or disclosed without consent where permitted or required by law.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use one necessary cookie, fairbank_cookie_consent, to remember your cookie choices for 180 days. It contains your category choices, the consent version, and the date of the choice. It is not used for advertising.
At the date of this policy, the site does not have optional analytics or marketing tags installed. If we add them, they will remain blocked unless you allow the relevant category. You can accept, reject, or customize optional cookies when prompted and change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer. You can also delete cookies through your browser.
When we disclose information
We disclose personal information only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, including to service providers that support our hosting, security, website operations, and email delivery (currently including Resend for contact-form delivery). These providers are authorized to process information only for the services they provide to us. We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect legal rights or safety, or in connection with a proposed or completed business transaction, subject to appropriate protections.
Processing outside Canada
Some service providers may store or process personal information outside Ontario or Canada, including in the United States. While information is in another jurisdiction, it may be subject to that jurisdiction’s laws and may be accessible to courts, law enforcement, or regulatory authorities there. We remain accountable for personal information transferred to a provider for processing and use contractual or other appropriate means to require suitable protection.
Contact our Privacy Officer if you would like more information about service-provider processing in other jurisdictions.
Retention and safeguards
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, to maintain appropriate business records, or to meet legal requirements. Retention periods vary based on the nature of the information and the reason it was collected. When information is no longer required, we delete, destroy, or anonymize it using appropriate measures.
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. If a breach of security safeguards creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected individuals and report the breach as required by applicable law.
Accessing or correcting your information
You may make a written request to learn whether we hold personal information about you, obtain access to it, or ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will respond within 30 days, subject to any extension or exception permitted by law, and will explain any refusal and available recourse. We will not charge a fee unless permitted by law and disclosed to you in advance.
Children’s privacy
This business-to-business site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly seek personal information from children through it. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact our Privacy Officer.
